I cut an Andrea Victoria My Mind's Eye card with a larger hexagon and then a smaller one for the sentiment. Fun, huh? The sentiment is from Studio Calico/Hero Arts' Wonderful World.
I made another with a larger middle portion featuring a fun sentiment from Fabulous by Technique Tuesday.
For this one, I cut a bunch of hexagons from the Simply Jane patterned paper (PTI) and then swiped chamomile tea dye ink around the edges before adhering them to Aqua Mist cardstock. I stamped the Think Big Favourites sentiment on vellum and wrapped it around the front panel before adhering it to an Autumn Leaves kraft card.
Since I used vellum, I will enter this one into the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays:
Next, I tried a shabby vintage look on this one with lots of layers of inking and stamping. I got this fun set from Cavallini & Co with all sorts of airmail and postage stamps. I stamped off the Brown Sugar Jenni Bowlin ink and stamped a whole bunch of images all over the panel.
Then I stamped the hexagon background (Market Street Stamps) over the whole front without stamping off. I stamped the sentiment in Vintage Cream ink and swiped more of the ink around the outside and smudged it with my fingers.
I mounted it with foam dots on a vintage cream card. Not my usual style but I quite like it!
Now, I celebrated Father's Day a little early and I've already posted my Father's Day card that I made using the MIM technique of a pocket card:
I wrapped up his gift with some tissue paper that I stamped with 'Vater' (German for Father) using my new Stepping Stone Alphabet set:
I crumpled the tissue a bit and then repeatedly stamped it all over. I even stamped a manila tag and used Fillable Frames as well.
I used the globe image stamped off from this Wonderful World stamp set:
So, have you been caught by a new trend and purchased something new lately?

These are all so fantastic, Cara! You've inspired me to break out my only hexagon stamps and finally give this trend a try. I especially LOVE the vintage look of the stamped postmarks and the soft sentiment. Thanks for joining us this week at CAS-ual Fridays!

Cara - I LOVE all of these cards! I've been wanting some hexagon dies, but haven't taken the plunge yet. You may've just pushed me over the edge! I love the way you used the vellum over your hexagons. Thank you so much for playing along with us at CAS-ual Fridays!
