edited to add: Feel so lucky to have gotten a 'shout out' for this card over on Meredith's blog ....
Thanks so much!!
I took a Prima bird from this new pack I got at the last Impress sale and added it to a white woodgrain card base. This cardstock rocks!! It is the perfect weight and the other side is smooth so it works perfectly for card bases ... you can still write on it with no issues.
Here's a close up of the front of the card and you can see the embossing and the detail of this cardstock:
I added a Fabulous Frames Ocean Tides banner for the sentiment. I used some Versamark to stamp the 'holiday wishes' and white Zing embossing powder for a sentiment that pops.
Of course I had to use foam dots somehow so popped up the sentiment banner. The bird was dabbed with some Rock Candy Stickles but it's hard to capture on camera ....
This card is very clean and simple but I am pleased with how it turned out.
Supplies:
Paper: white woodgrain cardstock, PTI Ocean Tides
Stamps: PTI Faux Ribbon
Ink: Versamark
Misc: Prima wood bird, foam dots, white Zing embossing powder, PTI Fabulous Frames die (banner)

I LOVE this one... and that woodgrain paper IS really cool!! I love the subtlety of the embossing - no, I am not sorry I didn't go in on it with you, but I definitely see what's to love!!
Lovely card. The embossing adds some nice texture. Cute bird. I image it looks lovely in person with the stickles on the bird.
Very pretty, Cara! I LOVE that paper...haven't seen it before! It makes such a pretty background for your simple but lovely elements! Another sweet card!! Thanks so much for sharing!
Love this one - so perfectly CAS! and I love that you used woodgrain behind it! A little rustic touch that works so well with the wodden bird! Thank you for playing along with us at CAS(E) This Sketch this week!
