Papertrey Ink August Blog hop

I was racing to get some cards made for this blog hop - it's been a long day!  I was inspired by the Kate Spade-esque design feel.  Here's the inspiration pic:
I took the hot pink and polka dots as my jumping off point and added a feather die cut.  Love the texture on this one!
Check out the glossy gold embossing ... it adds such class, doesn't it? :)  I used Rustic Cream card stock so it does have some 'rustic' flecks ...
My next card (which I wasn't able to get in the link up (I missed it by one minute!) is the following - a condolence I needed to make for a colleague:
Here's a closeup on the Harvest Berries gold embossing:
I used a good old standby Round and Round anniversary set for the sentiment with the nice deep black of Versafine Black Onyx.  Or is it Onyx Black? :)

SAF Vintage Patterns

I made two cards for the vintage patterns  challenge ... What fun!  The first was a mixture of Lace Bouquet images using Fresh ink on Winter Wisteria.

The second was with Delightful Dahilia additions and Fresh inks on Rustic Cream.

SAF Antique Embossing

Trying out Melissa's antique embossing technique ...

SAF Wax Seals

Using my new Wet Paint set and the faux wax seal method.  Man, with five of us heat embossing, it smells rather plastic-y in here! ;)
I just love my new Fresh Ink mint ink ...  It looks really cool on Kraft card stock ...

SAF Morning Timer Challenge

I tried the timer challenge and made the time at 6:17.  Not bad!

SAF Mock Mosaics

The pearlescent embossing paste finally dried so I could finish up my card ... ;)  Super simple with a butterfly die ctu on top.
And here's one I did with some Laurie's press n' seal negatives technique using Lizzie's video idea ...
Natural Beauties and a Wet Paint die cut.

Stamp-a-Faire Meet and Greet and MIM #177

So the fabulous Papertrey Ink Stamp-a-Faire starts tomorrow!  Whoo hoo!  I am getting together with a few crafty friends in town and we will be playing along with the challenges all day tomorrow.  Can't wait!  Just gotta pack my bag and get all ready!  I just got home from dinner with a friend who is going out of town soon but made a Make it Monday card earlier that I will share ...
I started with a Soft Stone card base and used the Horizontal Stripes cover plate to cut out the pieces from some Snap patterned card stock.  I used Laurie's technique of using the cover plate negative pieces - love it!
I added a Wet Paint die cut using some credit card advertising silver card stock - it was too good to recycle! :)
The inside has a Fresh Ink Fuschia heart stamp from Wet Paint ... love these stamp sets!!

So I better get started packing up some supplies to take to my Stamp-A-Faire event tomorrow and snacks for everyone too ...  I'm sure everyone is excited to get started on the challenges.  Of course, being on the West Coast of Canada, we will be a bit behind since they start at 7am MST which means an absurdly early hour here ... :)
Oh and we are supposed to share a picture of ourselves ... here's my good old purply standby from Facebook ... kinda funky!

PTI'S Make it Monday #175 - die cut borders

Over at Papertrey,  this week's challenge is die cut borders.  I am not enamored worth my first creation,  but I will share anyways.
I used the Fanciful Feather dies along the edges and used the rock and roll technique on the feathers with some Fresh inks.
I stamped the large feather using Versamark and added pewter Perfect Pearls.  This is my new purchase - PTI's linen vellum. Love it!!
I finished off the card with a gold glitter Wet Paint die cut.  I will definitely be trying this technique again - hopefully creating a better card!☺
