Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge - my two submissions

I made two cards for the February blog hop challenge over at PTI.  I bought a scallop punch a while ago but haven't used it much ... here's my chance!  It actually embosses as well but it's hard to tell in these photos.
I layered some Basic Grey ambrosia papers and used my Faux Ribbon stamp set sentiments from Papertrey in Versafine Black Onyx.  Fun bright colours for a change! :)
Here's another one I did with a whole bunch of layered patterned papers from My Mind's Eye Garden Vignettes.  This is glitter cardstock and the patterns are sumptuous!  Some corner rounding and it's all done.  I made a long skinny card with a finished size of 3 ½ x 8 ½  to fit in a business envelope.  Here's a closeup before I had finished:
I decided to add some buttons to my creation so this is what it looks like now:
And here is a view of the whole card, albeit slightly cut off on one side of the view!

and before it was a little more ho-hum without the buttons.  Slightly unfinished, I decided!

Perhaps with this humongous size you can see the embossed punch detail.  I kept it very simple since there were so many patterns.

Supplies:
Card 1 - 4 1/4 x 5 1/4
Paper:  Staples 110# white, Basic Grey  6x6 Ambrosia pad
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx
Stamps: PTI Faux Ribbon
Misc: corner rounder, EK Success Embossed curve punch

Card 2 - 3 ½ x 8 ½
Paper: Staples 110# white, My Mind's Eye Garden Vignettes glitter cardstock
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx
Stamps: PTI Faux Ribbon
Misc: corner rounder, EK Success Embossed embossed curve punch, vintage (read "Mom's drawer of old") buttons

The colors and pattern has a very vintage feel. So pretty. I, too, like that you added the buttons to the sentiment panel.

Great cards - I love the papers you chose, especially the second one, it's stunning. I agree, the buttons add just the right something.
