I used some fun PTI sets together - Mat Stack 4 and Mod Squad plus the Envelope background stamp from Hero Arts. I then took the Scor Bug and ran it diagonally for some added interest. I used the Vintage Tea ink in Chamomile on the edges ....
Here's a closeup of the Scor Bug effect created:
I love to create cards and it seems people enjoy receiving them. You'll often find me amidst a stack of paper, glitter, stamps and inks playing with my supplies. If you would like to make an order, email me at cardsbycara AT hotmail DOT com

Make a wish
With some of my newer stamps, I have been stocking up on important card types such as birthdays. This is a birthday sentiment from my new oversized sentiment set that I got from PTI paired with some Liquid Pearls in White Opal, and a quick impression plate run through of the dots. I used Fresh ink on the Large Fabric Design stamp from Hero Arts for a simple soft background.
Papertrey Blog Hop - Embroidery Thread - Birthday flags
Here is the first of my many blog hop submissions. Hope you enjoy looking through them all!
This was the challenge set out for us:
For the March Blog Hop we are challenging you to use embroidery floss in a fun and inventive way on your project. This could include stitching, wrapping it around and tying it like ribbon, braiding, accenting tags, embroidered patterns or anything else you can dream up!
I impressed the white card base front with PTI's impression plate of polka dots. Love this look! I then stamped Hero Arts Friendly Flags in varying sizes and designs and cut them out with my detail scissors. What a great purchase, especially when you are trying to cut tough intricate designs. Not so much with these flags as they are easy cuts but for flowers etc, they work well. I pierced holes then threaded some embroidery floss through the flags and attached them to the card. I then stamped Giga Guidelines' sentiment in Versafine Black Onyx and Fresh Ink steel blue.
Make sure to take a look at my other submissions for this blog hop - I did a whole bunch!
Supplies:
Paper: Staples 110lb, grey
Stamps: Hero Arts Friendly Flags, PTI Giga Guidelines
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Fresh Ink steel blue
Misc: PTI polka dot impression plate, piercing tool, embroidery floss, detail scissors

Papertrey Blog Hop - Embroidery Thread - French knots
The challenge:

I decided to try French knots with the embroidery thread. I used PTI's Life set and did some second generation stamping. I did the French knots, then inked up the edges. I mounted it with foam dots onto a card base that I had stamped with the text background. I scored it and stamped a sentiment from Signature Greetings as well.
Make sure to take a look at all of my submissions for this blog hop - I went a little embroidery thread crazy! :)
Supplies:
Paper: Staples 110lb white, grey
Stamps: PTI's BB: Text, Life, Signature Greetings
Ink: Fresh Ink steel blue, pear
Misc: MS scoring tool, foam dots
Papertrey Blog Hop - Embroidery Thread - Masculine Leaf
Here is the challenge:

I decided to make a more masculine card. I used the Moroccan impression plate on kraft card stock, wrapped a deep rich rusty brown embroidery thread, and then used my In Bloom die set to cut out the leaf. I stamped it with the leaf and coloured it in, using the pen more heavily on some parts to add dimension. I popped up the leaf on foam dots and mounted the impressed panel on a grey card base.
Here's a look a little more up close:

Papertrey Blog Hop - Embroidery Thread - put your party hat on!

I decided to use my Hero Arts Friendly Flags set to make a party hat complete with a pom pom and chin strap.
I used PTI's big sentiment set and did a background of the retro set. One of my faves! I popped it up with a pop dot and glued the pom pom with Glossy Accents - that stuff holds up to everything! I think I might use Stickles to emphasize the dot on the 'i' but haven't yet ...

Papertrey Blog Hop - Embroidery Thread - flowers
Here is this month's challenge:
For the March Blog Hop we are challenging you to use embroidery floss in a fun and inventive way on
your project. This could include stitching, wrapping it around and tying it like ribbon, braiding, accenting tags, embroidered patterns or anything else you can dream up!
I kept this card really simple and scored lines on the outside edges. I then used PTI's Delightful Doilies smaller images as the background flowers, green embroidery floss as the stems and then punched out some little leaves from polka dot green paper. I used an alphabet set and some buttons to finish off the flowers.
Supplies:
Paper: Staples 110lb white, green polka dot scraps
Ink: Fresh inks steel blue and pear
Stamps: Stampology Alphabet, PTI Delightful Doilies
Misc: Embroidery floss, leaf punch, MS scoring board

Double embossing PTI style
Well, I learned a new technique today courtesy of the talented Erin Lincoln and here is an example of a card I made using my newly found knowledge. I used an impression plate and a die for a different look.
Here's another one I did using the same technique but with different patterns:
I did some sponging on this one and used Fresh Inks from Impress Rubber Stamps.
Here's another one I did using the same technique but with different patterns:
If you would like to try this technique, here is the 'sandwich' I used in my Cuttlebug:
A plate
B plate
Impression plate facing up
Die cutting side facing up
Paper facing down
Embossing mats - vanilla and tan
