Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge - my two submissions

I made two cards for the February blog hop challenge over at PTI.  I bought a scallop punch a while ago but haven't used it much ... here's my chance!  It actually embosses as well but it's hard to tell in these photos.
I layered some Basic Grey ambrosia papers and used my Faux Ribbon stamp set sentiments from Papertrey in Versafine Black Onyx.  Fun bright colours for a change! :)
Here's another one I did with a whole bunch of layered patterned papers from My Mind's Eye Garden Vignettes.  This is glitter cardstock and the patterns are sumptuous!  Some corner rounding and it's all done.  I made a long skinny card with a finished size of 3 ½ x 8 ½  to fit in a business envelope.  Here's a closeup before I had finished:
I decided to add some buttons to my creation so this is what it looks like now:
And here is a view of the whole card, albeit slightly cut off on one side of the view!

and before it was a little more ho-hum without the buttons.  Slightly unfinished, I decided!

Perhaps with this humongous size you can see the embossed punch detail.  I kept it very simple since there were so many patterns.

Supplies:
Card 1 - 4 1/4 x 5 1/4
Paper:  Staples 110# white, Basic Grey  6x6 Ambrosia pad
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx

Card 2 - 3 ½ x 8 ½

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx

Misc: corner rounder, EK Success Embossed embossed curve punch, vintage (read "Mom's drawer of old") buttons

There's nothing better than a true friend - In Bloom

Here's a card I made in shades of blue.  I just love my Distress Inks!  I
used a blender pen to colour in the flower.
I added a blue rhinestone to the center and voilĂ !
Supplies:
Paper: Hero Arts card, Noel patterned paper
Stamps: PTI In Bloom
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Broken China Distress Ink
Misc: blue rhinestone

Hey, there!

I made this card with Papertrey Ink's Fillable Frames 6.  After I did a whole bunch of stamping with different colours of Distress Inks, I took a picture of the card.
I decided it was missing something so added this cute chipboard bird from DCFW.  Much better!

This card was my inspiration ... I changed it up quite a bit ... by stamping the sentiment in every frame and separating out the frames rather than layering them.

Supplies:
Paper: Hero Arts card
Stamp: PTI Fillable Frames 6
Ink: Distress Inks
Misc: DCFW bird, Glossy Accents

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Distress Ink Marmalade
Stamps: PTI Fillable Frames stamp 2, sentiment from Fillable Frames 6; Hero Arts thanks definition

Make it Mondays - Vellum Sentiment Strip

Here's my entry for this week's PTI challenge - a vellum sentiment strip card.  I used Damask Designs sentiment and some tracing paper with Noel paper I had leftover from Christmas cards.  A little sparkle is always fun!  I used the Vintage Tea duo to ink the outside of the patterned paper and added a button for good measure.

Supplies:
Paper: Staples white, Noel patterned paper
Stamps: Damask Designs
Ink: Vintage Photo Distress ink
Misc: Glue dots, Tombo adhesive

Some quick thank you cards

I made these two cards for my sister to use.  Very simple and quick.  I used PTI's Background Basics: Retro, and then Giga Guidelines' images in Versamark (hard to see) with the thank you sentiment from the same set over top in Broken China Distress ink.  I used Amy Butler's Lotus patterned paper as the layer.

Supplies: Staples grey cardstock, Amy Butler Lotus patterned paper
Stamps: PTI's Giga Guidelines, Background Basics: Retro
Inks: Versafine Black Onyx, Broken China Distress Ink, Versamark

Just because

I went to town stamping the damask of Damask Designs from Papertrey Ink, then layered a wedding patterned paper from Making Memories.  A simple sentiment from Giga Guidelines in Broken China Distress Ink and voilĂ  - a simple card.  I used a grey cardstock for something different ... love the combo of black and grey and white. Simple and the dash of blue adds a little colour.

Supplies:
Paper: Staples grey cardstock,  Making Memories wedding paper
Stamps: PTI's Damask Designs, Giga Guidelines
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Distress Inks

Go To Sentiments challenge

To help celebrate the Papertrey Anniversary, I have made a card for the Make it Mondays series.  The challenge is to use a whole bunch of sentiments from different sets to create a card.  I chose thank you sentiments.  I used a simple combination of colours and a die cut from the Signature Series dress form.  What do you think?
It's hard to tell, but I used some white wallpaper for my die cut to add some texture.

Supplies:
Paper: white wallpaper, PTI Stamper's Select white, Scarlet Jewel
Ink: Versamark, Versafine Black Onyx
Stamps: Signature Series dress form, Asian Fusion, Giga Guidelines, Faux Ribbon, Mat Stack 1 Collection, Fillable Frames 2, Mega Mixed Messages, Hero Arts classic fabric design cling stamp
Misc: foam dots, Signature Series dress form die, corner rounder, M's ribbon

Sympathy cards

Sympathy cards are never easy to make but I needed two for tomorrow so here's what I came up with.  A white base, a grey layer and some charcoal chalk ink with my new In Bloom stamp set.
To add some interest, I used Liquid Pearls in white opal and Stickles in Blue to colour in the centre of the flowers.

On the inside, I stamped a leaf image from the same set and then used a steel blue sentiment from Asian Fusion.
For some reason, I can't change the orientation of this image; my apologies!

Supplies:
Paper: Staples white, grey
Stamps: PTI In Bloom, Asian Fusion

In Bloom and Faux Ribbon Inspiration!

I just received these two sets and was so excited to put them to work.  Here's what I made.  I started off by stamping one of the faux ribbons in Frost White ink and then layered a chalk ink stamped In Bloom flower which I cut out with my handy dandy detail scissors.  I stamped the sentiment in the same white ink and then popped up the flower on some foam dots :

I used some liquid pearls white opal in the centre to add some sparkle.  I then stamped one of the smaller flowers from In Bloom on the inside of the card for some added detail in white:
It might be hard to see but there is a little white flower on the inner bottom right corner.  Promise!  The saying is from a fabulous set of sentiments called Everyday Sayings by Hero Arts.  It is filled with great sentiments to use for all sorts of occasions.

Supplies:
Paper: Turquoise Sea Gina K Pure Luxury, Hero Arts layering paper
Stamps: Hero Arts Everyday Sayings, PTI In Bloom, Faux Ribbon
Misc: Liquid Pearls white opal , detail scissors, foam dots
Ink: Colorbox Charcoal Chalk Ink, Colorbox Frost White Ink
